Haiti Earthquake Fund raising day

When the children of Rose Hill Westonbirt School heard of the plight of the people of Haiti their first thoughts were to ask their teachers if they could organise an event to raise some money to help the survivors. Just one week later Monday 23rd January was designated Haiti Day. At breaktime fresh fruit smoothies were whizzed up for pupils to buy, after lunch the Nursery class held a sponsored swimathon, and at the end of the school day children from all year groups  manned stalls selling second hand toys and books and cakes which they had donated. There was a treasure hunt for Pirate Treasure and you could even have your face painted. By the end of the day the pupils' efforts had raised the remarkable sum of £581.71 which will go to the Haiti Relief Fund.
