On Tuesday, December 7th 2010, local nurseries were invited to Westonbirt School to enjoy 'Jesus' Christmas Party', performed by Rose Hill Westonbirt and Rosebuds Nursery pupils.

Fifty-seven children from Rosebuds Nursery and students from Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2 at Rose Hill Westonbirt all played a part in the nativity. Whilst the stars of the show waited backstage, eager to show off their acting skills, the audience waited patiently in Westonbirt School's Great Hall, admiring the magnificent thirty-foot Christmas tree that stands centre of attention.

Once Jesus' Christmas Party was in full swing, the audience spent the 45-minute performance dancing in their seats along with Joseph and Mary, three wise men, shining stars and funky chickens! Both children and adults had a lovely time and were amazed at the effort students and staff had put in.

Six local nurseries attended the performance, including Tetbury Nursery Playgroup, Puddleducks Playgroup, The Stable Nursery, Acorns Nursery, Tigger's Nursery Group and Gooseberry Bush Day Nursery. After the performance, children were treated to drinks and snacks in Westonbirt School's Reading Room, where everyone felt in the festive spirit and played together.

Headmaster Neil Shaw said 'I'm always delighted when local nurseries accept our invitation to Westonbirt School to watch the nativity play. It's fantastic that we are able to share our performance and have the children enjoy the festivities together'.
