Movember at Rose Hill Westonbirt School

One might be forgiven for thinking there was a Tom Selleck look-alike competition going on, but no, the Headmaster of Rose Hill Westonbirt School, Neil Shaw, Deputy Head Guy Barrett and Year 5 Form Teacher James Stewart, had entered into the spirit of Movember - growing moustaches to raise awareness and funds for the Prostate Cancer Charity. Money raised by Movember is used to fund key programmes that make a real difference to the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer.

Sid Crighton, a parent, hosted a Rose Hill Westonbirt Parents Association (RWPA) Quiz Night sporting a prominent moustache and introduced the evening with a light hearted but powerful presentation about the importance of men talking about and sharing health concerns, rather than letting them go potentially undiagnosed.

Headmaster Neil Shaw commented "the children, parents and staff have really got behind this fun awareness-raising activity. I have been sporting a 'dodgy tache' for a whole month and have noticed a whole range of reactions from parents and visitors alike, from amused puzzlement... to genuine laughter. It's been a talking point and has really brightened up November"
