Pupils enjoy Cheltenham Literature Festival!

Children from Year 3, 4 and 5 had an inspiring time last week with various visits to the Cheltenham Literary Festival.

Pupils were lucky enough to attend a talk with Francesca Simon, author of the Horrid Henry series, who spoke about the inspiration for her new book - The Sleeping Army.

On Wednesday, it was Year 6's turn and they attended two workshops given by the Anne Frank Society. The first was an art workshop where children were encouraged to paint their fears, hopes and their own personalities! Following lunch we had a talk about Anne Frank and her life and times in the Secret Annex.

Finally, five gifted and talented pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed a talented writers' course with author Liz Kessler, who spent the day inspiring them with her tips and ideas. Liz's new book, 'A Year without Autumn' is in the new library to enjoy.
