Sports Day at Rose Hill Westonbirt.

Rose Hill Westonbirt School and Rosebuds' Nursery welcomed many parents and friends along to the school's recent Sports Days. We were blessed with good weather on both days, allowing the pupils to enjoy competing and the adults to enjoy the BBQ and Pimms lunch provided!

For many children at Rosebuds, this was their first ever sports day. It was a lovely warm morning and our nursery children were soon lining up to start their races. In total they competed in five different races - including a running race, a balancing race, a bat and ball race, an obstacle race and a dressing up race. It has been very important for the children to learn so many different physical skills, whilst also improving their PHSE skills, such as sharing and waiting their turn. It also helps prepare them for natural completion whether on the playing field or not, and is preparation for entry to school.

The children had a lovely day and we welcomed many parents along too. The boys and girls all received a gold medal and certificate from Headmaster Neil Shaw.

Both days ended with the eagerly anticipated parents' race, which were, as ever, keenly contested!

Well done everyone!
