Year 3 pupils travel back in time!
Year 3 went to visit the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery last week, where they took part in an Egyptian workshop.
Working as 'detectives', they had to identify a range of Egyptian artefacts and work out who they belonged to. We looked at objects used during the life of a scribe, a mummy, a child, a man and a priest. It was quite a challenge to work out what some of the artefacts were used for, but the super detectives worked out which box belonged to who!
Some of the artefacts were 3000 years old, and some were replicas, with children looking for clues as to which were which. We finished our trip with a visit to the Egyptian section, where the children were able to observe many aspects of Egyptian life, including the after life.
