JNR Boys Rugby V Grittleton
On a hot Wednesday afternoon, our Junior Rugby team made their bow this season in a tightly fought contest away to Grittleton House School. Grittleton were the deserved winners by 8 tries to 5 but our boys many of whom are new to rugby put up a good fight. With fine tries by our captain Elliott Cook and Olver Wilcox, the half-time score was a slender lead of 3 tries to 2 in favour of Grittleton. With excellent running from Theo Hagan and Luke Batten, RHW closed the gap in the second-half with further tries from Gabriel Evans and Patrick Wood. In the final minutes, RHW wilted in the sweltering conditions but a second try from Elliott closed the gap to a very re-spectable 8 tries to 5. This was a good team effort with lots of effort from all our players. Harry Wood proved a willing runner through-out and our players can take a lot of credit from their performance especially as the majority of the Grittlton players were Y4 boys. Well done boys! MoM Elliott Cook.
