Mr Neil Shaw
Headmaster

Life before Rose Hill Westonbirt?
Teaching has always been my passion, but management of schools has been my focus for many years. Previously Deputy Head and then Headmaster of Kingswood School in Solihull.
Why Rose Hill Westonbirt?
Rose Hill Westonbirt was always an exciting prospect for a (relatively!) young Head to take on. The professional challenges and rewards of leading such a dynamic and evolving school are exactly what I was looking for in my career. The greatest privilege is working with a group of such committed and passionate staff and parents; and the children have continually delighted me. Living in the Cotswolds has been a wonderful place for my young family to grow. Alice and Seb have had amazing opportunities that I never had growing up in an urban environment. The commute to work is a delight too!
And in your spare time?
I am devoted to spending my spare time with my two children. I am passionate about architecture, design, love reading, going to the theatre and doing cryptic crosswords. I am a real 'foodie' and get a lot of pleasure from fine foods and I love wine, but know I am no connoisseur. (There is a rumour about that I am some kind of 'surf dude', although this is entirely unfounded, I'm happy to go along with it if it enhances my reputation!) In a previous existence my wife and I travelled the world and hope one day to have the opportunity to share our love of travelling with the children when they get older. Alice has already demanded a trip to Australia to see the kangaroos.
