Life before Rose Hill Westonbirt?

Life before teaching! At the beginning of my working life I worked as a Riding Instructor, moving on to work with competition horses. Giving up the 'outdoor' life (far too cold in the winter!), I moved to London and worked in an office. Afterwards, I thought it was time to get a 'proper job', and went back to University to study a BEd(Hons) course for Primary Teaching.

My previous teaching experiences were within an Infant and Nursery School near Reading, teaching from Reception to Year 2 and a Junior School where I taught English and Maths to Year 5.

Why Rose Hill Westonbirt?

Having moved into the area nearly 4 years ago, I applied for a job at Rose Hill Westonbirt. The grounds are superb, making the school a beautiful place to work. I am lucky enough to work with fantastic colleagues and children, which all help to make each day full of laughter and fun! I particularly enjoy the grounds and teaching Forest School within the Spinney.

And in your spare time?

I have 2 children, a girl aged 11 and a boy of 8, so I seem to spend a lot of time being a 'taxi' driver to them! I ride one day per week, schooling a horse for dressage and also try to counteract the lunches at Rose Hill Westonbirt by going to the gym and participating in a pilates class. I enjoy reading and belong to a book group - a good excuse for a glass of wine and a natter with my friends!
